Spring Break or Winter Break?

Well they say it was, "Spring Break", but after this week you have to wonder?!  We did not start the week off well...4 new tires for the van because of the wonderful pothole we hit:(  However, thanks to Grandpa Mike lending us the truck, the girls and I hit the Mall of America, Ikea and Chucky Cheese on Monday! We met Aunt Sabrina and cousins Cody and Payton at Ikea for breakfast.  I LOVE Ikea and enjoyed walking around dreaming about my future home decorating and improvement!  We bought a few fun things, then headed over to the MOA for some rides with the cousins.  We rode Blues Clues and jumped in the giant pineapple with cousin Cody!  We also rode a few big rides with mom and then walked around the mall.  Makyah's highlight was stopping in the American Girl store, and she was lucky enough to pick out an outfit.  She was very proud of that purchase and carrying the bag while strutting her stuff through the rest of the mall!  Cambree's highlight was stopping to look at every Sponge Bob thing imaginable!  She came home with Sponge Bob's haunted pirate ship.  We also got to see the man living in the giant clear box.  He is trying to get fit while living under the eye of mall goers, I guess???  After the mall we stopped at Chucky Cheese to have a bite to eat.  Let's just say it is a good thing I brought the GPS.  I know it seams easy to all of you, but I am need of using it anytime I leave EC.  OK, so I should probably use it in EC as well:)

Riding the Blue's Clues ride!
Spending time with cousins!
The man in the box!  Here he had a little company from a mall employee.

Hugging Sponge Bob again! It never gets old for Cams!
Cams..."Mom is there a person inside Sponge Bob, or is he a robot?"  Me..."Yes Cams it is a person inside!"
Cams..."Why would a person want to be a character?"  Me..."Good question Cams, I guess to make kids as happy as you are when you get to hug him."  Cams..."Oh yeah"

Cambree continues to be very inquisitive about everything in life and asks lots of questions about everything.   That's why we love her so much!
Hanging out at Chucky Cheese.  The pizza...not the greatest.  The entertainment...the best.  In this picture we were watching Chucky sing a Justin Bieber song, which Makyah found very amusing!

Playing games...earning tickets...and picking out silly prizes!  What more could you ask for!
Then on Tuesday...came SNOW!  Not again, however this time it lead to... no lights, no heat, no Biggest Looser, and a bath by lantern (OK a flashlight lantern).  It was fun for the girls but it cut off my show!  Later we found out everyone got Biggest Looser cut off in the middle!  We all decided to sleep in the same bed to keep warm.  Turned out a transformer went out on our street.  The power was eventually restored...at midnight!  When the power came back on, everything we had on in the house at the time of the power loss also came on!  It scared the daylights out of me and I woke up to a biggest looser contestant frozen on the TV screen!
Our lantern bath!
At the MOA, Gymboree was having a sale on swimsuits with matching flip flops, so of course the girls each got one!  We all dreamed about summer and had a fashion show to fulfill the mood!

Oh summer... hurry up, we can't wait!
On Friday afternoon, we went out to Joann's to find some crafts to do.  The girls really wanted to paint giant letters, so that is what we got!

The girls spent Tue, Wed, and Thursday with Carolyn. (Thanks Carolyn!) They stayed in a few days because of the snow, but stopped at her house on Thursday.  Cambree came home with an old phone and quickly set up her store!  What was she selling?  Toy Story guys and squishy animals!
On Saturday Makyah taught Cambree a dance.  She said she got bumped on each cheek while practicing, so she put a band-aid on each one.  Then she performed her dance.  Little did we know that she also added her own music!  Watch the video below with your sound way up, so you can hear it!

On Sunday, Brookie came over to use the office to finish her work!  (She doesn't have any peace in quiet in her own home office:)  I'm not sure if she got a lot done though as Cams had a lot to say to her.  Cambree told Brook Sunday night, that she wished she could live with us!
Well Sunday afternoon, my Ikea purchase finally made it up!  Thanks Cal for hanging it.  It is our new message center for the family, we added the fun organizational background, and it is so much fun to use wipe off markers on!

Well that ends our busy Spring Break!  It may have felt more like winter, but it gave me nice and warm fuzzies to spend time with the girls!
Here's to a warmer week!  Love, The Lokkens
