Disney Cruise Vacay!

The vacation post, FINALLY!
It has only been a few weeks since we got back, but it feels like it was so long ago, probably because it was warm, and it is sooo cold here!
BTW, this may be the longest post ever, so beware!

We left on a Thursday night and Aunt Carolyn brought us to the airport!

We lost an hour on the way, so when we got there it was 11pm! The good thing, the food court was open and we were STARVING!  We got our first taste of Mickey...brownie style!
Cambree had her hat on and was ready to go!
The first sight of our room.  We were in the Little Mermaid section of the new, Art of Animation hotel!  It was sooo cool!
Cambree called the area behind the curtain, the time out room.  I think she just liked the curtain pulled shut!
Our hotel had many sections, there was Lion King...

 Nemo...

 Cars...

and of course our area, Little Mermaid!
We stayed in the building behind King Titan!

I sang the whoozits and whatsits song the entire two days....to annoy the kids, and because all the treasures reminded me of the movie!

We spent Friday at Magic Kingdom.  It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine.

The little mermaid ride was our first.
We stopped to take in the parade!
It was the street dancing parade, and I finally got someone to dance with me...Cambree!
We played Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger!

The girls were trapped by Zeurg!

Got to ride the NEW dumbo ride in the new Fantasy Land!
Yes, I got to ride the dizzy tea cups, but how could you resist!
Waiting for the night show and fireworks.
This time we saw a new show that was projected onto the castle, it had clips and music from all the movies.

Of course the fireworks never get old!
Then it was time to board the ship.  This was the view from our room veranda!
We hit the 12 hour daily ice cream right away before we left port.
The girls of course loved the room.  It was small but homey and the beds are one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on.
We decided to check out the kids clubs right away.  They had this automatic hand washer that you were required to use upon entering. You just stick your arms in and it washes and sanitizes all on its own!  No germs here!
We checked out Andy's room...
and the monster workshop.
Of course there was plenty of games to play too!
One of the funnest things for the kids on the ship was the 3 detective Muppet mysteries.  You would take your detective badge around the ship and hold it up to pictures that would change and give you clues to figuring out the mysteries.  It kept the girls busy all week.
This little Muppet door, help a lot of clues too!
Of course one of the fun things to check out after our room had been cleaned was the towel animals...and chocolates!

We of course got to see a lot of characters o the ship, like Fineas and Ferb...
Cambree's favorite...Stitch and lots more!
We hung out in giant portholes...
and explored other fun on the ship.
Makyah got her hair braided again, and yes it hurt A LOT!  But she made it and loved the end result!
Cams did a lot of soaking up the sun, which we all did since it was beautiful and sunny everyday.  The weather stayed mainly in the lower 80's but with direct sun all day, felt much warmer.
The first port was St. Thomas.  We headed straight for the beach, which cost us $80 in cab fair with a crazy driver in a rusty 1980's car, but it was well worth it!
The girls snorkeled and played on the beach all day.

This was a picture of the coast from our boat.
That night we had Pirate Night!
 This was our decorated door.

We dressed in Pirate wear for the show and dinner.

Of course there was fireworks too!
Simply amazing!

They had a midnight pirate buffet and everything was pirate themed!

The next day we arrived in San Juan.  We toured an old fort used to defend the island.

It was beautiful, and hot...the girls complained the most this day.  They just wanted to go back to the boat and swim.  We walked the streets of Old San Juan, and then headed back!

Makyah was exhausted and slept on a chair in the sun for an hour.
Cams and Cal chose to swim!
That night was officer pin trading, and we got lots of new pins!

On the ship there were many get wet areas, besides pools, like Nemo's Reef!

Aqua Duck is their famous water roller coaster that runs around the top edge of the ship.
Although not super fast, it was super fun!

Cal and I got some time to hang at the adult only pool areas!

We all played mini golf on the 14th deck.  Everyone in the group got at least one hole in one!

On the way back we saw many sunsets from our room, and it never got old!

We saw amazing shows every night and on the last night arrived early enough to sit in the balcony!

Semi formal night we got a pic with Donald...it was my favorite!

On the  second to last morning we ate breakfast as we pulled into Disney's own island, Castaway Cay!  By far our favorite and most exciting day.  It started out cool and cloudy, but by the time we were off the ship was warm and sunny!

We saw Mickey right away!

We read the cautions...and still decided to swim:)

Hung out in hamocks....

snorkled again...

found treasures...

and played on the floating island of water slides...Pelican Plunge!

Our ship from afar!

Playing with our new friend, Josh.

and taking time for family pictures!

It was a perfect day, and hard to say goodbye!

The last evening we said goodbye to all the characters.

We ate at our favorite restaurant, Animator's Palace.
It was so fun, you drew a picture of a person...

and our animations came to life in a show at the end.

Our name were even in the credits!

Our wait staff followed us to dinner every night, and they were lots of fun.
Jiri and Abraham thanks for a great time!

We also were seated with another family the entire stay and became close with them.  Russ, Lisa, Julia and Josh were from the east coast and we had a lot in common...mostly we all LOVE Disney...maybe a little too much!

The last night of characters!

Saying goodbye to the Fantasy...we hope to see you again sometime!

The plane ride home!

The best family vacation so far!

We will definitely do a cruise again... I can't wait!
Hope you enjoyed the long post, we could have doubled the pictures, but we didn't want to spoil all the fun...go on a cruise:)
Thanks for checking in!
