Remodel

Well it has been a long road but we are getting closer!  Over the past few weeks, we got a new roof!
Here are the old...
and here are the new!
I love the aged copper!
Hey, who let her up there????
I helped Cal put wood floor in the new area, and I have to say it was the worst job yet, I could barely walk that night!

We started to pain, and then hated the color because it looked too blue, and then took the rest of the paint back and picked a new color, and then painted all over again:(
I got my new rug, and I love it!
Just when we thought we were headed for home, Cal could not get the damaged ceiling to patch from taking down the beams, so.... we scraped!
It was horrible and dusty and it took 4 days, and I couldn't take it anymore, and I felt like we were starting over....and the I had a good cry and felt much better!
We did make it through the ceiling and now have no more popcorn!  Now do you understand why I had such a fun Thanksgiving break!  Stay tune for the final touches!

What is new this week... (End of October)
We got outlets, heat
 and drywall is up!
I can't wait!

Well in the past few weeks we ...
Windows are in and insulation is sprayed!
The ceiling is put back on under the porch with recessed lighting!
We have a new water heater!

The trim is painted for the outside of the windows, and up! (pictures to come)!
I finally got my couch cover on!!!  I love the color and can't wait to paint!
Well that is it for now!  The outside is ready for winter, minus the roof that is coming soon and we can finish the inside!  I sooo can't wait to have a dust free house that is put back together!  All I can say is, I love my Caleb, he is working so hard!  More to come soon!

Yep...it is true we love our small house so much we can not bear to leave it...NOT!  Truth is we love being on the water and the view we can see from the backyard...so in order to stay here, it must be livable...so we are remodeling!
We are hoping for...

Curb appeal
Larger living room (with a view)
The girls to have their own rooms
A "Master" bedroom (with a view) and a walk in closet
Basement with an updated look!

Did I mention there are things that we must do that are not as fun...
New roof
Sprinkler System
New water heater
Electrical upgrade, which involves relocating the gas which is not to code
Rock on the bank...I guess so our house doesn't fall into the river!

Well here is the page where you can see our progress, let's just say it has been "rocky" so far! I am sure we will run out of money before its done:(

Here is the rotten porch that we uncovered...
Cal figuring out what we can do...basically" rebuild it " he says!
Rebuilding with the help of Dave, my dad and other friends! (Thank- you!)
Getting it ready for new windows!
 Restructured bottom and new posts.
It is looking better and not as rotten:)

Cambree's room redo after pictures!
 She picked the green:)

 She also picked, Angry Birds:/

Makyah has the small room so she got the loft.
Here is her final room redo pics!
Upper loft...

 Hang out below!

 Redo on the dresser!
Meanwhile... this is Cal and my temporary living conditions...the old office, which is soon to be the "Master"  I hope:)
Right now my closet is the living area down stairs...at least it is big.

Well we hope to have the windows in the porch and it insulated in the next few weeks...along with a new water heater, roof, electrical box change, moved gas meter, removed power lines to roof, and then we can get to drywalling, painting and decorating the upstairs...before moving to the downstairs!  AHHHHH, when will it end!  Stay Tuned!
