Ok, So I Believe It, 22 Inches of Snow!

Ok, so I didn't believe it... it's always the same old cry wolf story...we are going to get all this snow, and then nothing.  So I always say, "I will believe it when I see it"!  Well I see it and I finally believe it.  What a fast week and a crazy weekend!
This week we finally went to see Santa.  We decided to go on a week night to avoid the crowd, and it worked... well kind of, we only had to wait about 45 minutes!  He was great as always and took a lot of time with the kids, even though I didn't buy his $15 picture and took my own!

Friday, we got our passports filed and sent.  Cal and I have had a hard time making our schedules work to go and do it.  The post office only does it M-F until 4 pm, so we had to pull the kids out of school a little early, and good thing because it took us an hour!  The guy said we should be fine and will get them on time.  In the pictures they really don't want you to smile, so here is the lovely shots that we will have for 10 years! (5 for the kids!)

And then on Saturday, they predicted the blizzard.  The kids thought it was so much fun, poor Cal he snow blowed for soooooo long and then had to go out and do it again on Sunday!  We tried to go sledding just a mile away by the airport in the middle of the day, and what a mistake that was.  We had to walk about 100 yards from the truck in 2 feet of snow and it took us 15 minutes to get there, walking directly into the wind.  Cambree was crying because she wanted to go home and Makyah was the first to try out the hill, only to make it a couple feet!  It was too windy and deep.  I pulled Cambree back to the truck on the sled and seriously felt like I was in the wilderness in a blizzard.  I was so winded and tired, I didn't think I was going to make it back.  What a workout we had!  Again, what where we thinking???  We headed back home and the girls played outside on Cal's snowplowed hill!  They tried snowboarding as well.  It got so windy that night, Makyah was afraid her swing set was going to blow away:)

The kids wanted Cal to snow blow on them while they hid under their sleds!
This is Makyah almost buried!
When we got up, we had sunshine...and had to snow blow all over again.  Here is our driveway!
The girls played outside all day again, they love the snow!
Yes we may have been shacked up in the house, but Cams always entertains us.  She found an old football helmet at Grandpas that use to be her dads, and lived in it all weekend!
On Sunday, I finally filled my promise to make cut out cookies.  The girls got to lick the beaters and frost, frost, frost!

Of course there was a lot of licking and eating as well!

Well that ends our fun, frosty cold weekend.  We got a lot of cleaning and organizing done to get ready for Santa. It was one for the record books and one we won't forget, it was so much fun!  6 more days and my baby Makyah will be 8, oh where does the time go:(  Stay Warm and Stay Tuned! Love , The Lokkens
