Well it is finally starting to feel like summer in Wisconsin! This week we had some very good friends that were visiting from New York. They have twin girls who are 9 months old. It was very fun to see them! It was a long weekend for me and on Friday I took the girls to the pool. It was fun until they evacuated the pool for some poop scooping. I also got quite the sunburn again. I guess I put the 50 spf on to late??? On Saturday poor Cal had to work, so the girls and I picked up party ware and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned! I think I lost 10 pounds that day I was sweating so much. Funny, the girls didn't seem to get too hot! I guess it was all their swimming and a/c breaks! We also decorated their bikes for the big 4th bike parade! On Sunday, it was raining (of course). It did stop in time for the 4th annual bike parade. The girls proudly rode their decorated bikes in the parade and even took another lap behind the neighbors lawn mower in a cart. Makyah's friend Miera's mom always heads up the parade and supplies lemonade after. Thanks Soma!
We headed back home to prepare for our party. We decided to make a quick run to Cal's friends Stuarts to get his canopy. What a pain in the ... that was to put that thing together, never again! Good think we did though because the second it was up it started to rain again. It was a good thing we had it because that is pretty much how the rest of the day was. Hardly any boat traffic as well. The kids still had fun and we still did fireworks, so it was a fun day!
On a sad Monday note, Grandpa Dicks dog Wiggies died this morning! He was not feeling well the past few days and was suppose to go to the doctor today but died at 7am. The girls and Cal helped bury poor Wiggles and they gave him some toys too. We are so sad and know that he will be deeply missed. He loved Makyah and Cambree and would do anything to protect them. We know he is now in heaven back on Grandma Faye's lap where he loved to sit! We love you Wiggies!
